Design inspiration As I am always keen to take on a new design challenge, I couldn't wait to get started on a my entry for the Mumpreneurs' Big 5000 competition and, as I specialise in pattern design, it seemed only natural that a bespoke pattern would feature.
My inspiration came from the retro designs of the 1970s, the era in which many of us Mumpreneurs grew up, a decade that conjures up for us an element of nostalgia, an emotional connection. I am particularly inspired by the clean lines and bold repetition of shape that defined this era and decided on a round-cornered square as the basis of my design, building up the pattern from there, with a huge emphasis on the achievement of 5000 visits. Using the pink, white and blue of the Mumpreneurs brand was important in order to carry through the group's strong brand identity.
The regularity of the block repeat patterns reflects the stability and support that the group provides for its members, while the overall bold pattern and bright colours represent the vibrancy of the mumpreneurs meetings.
Overall, the funky pattern is reflective of a group of dynamic women who are driven to achieving the best for themselves and for their families.
As a graphic designer specialising in hand drawn repeat patterns, I am able to offer a unique design service that is right on trend. Many luxury brands now use a pattern repeat of their logo within their branding, as a background, and the results can be very effective in creating a beautiful design and in reinforcing brand identity. The design can then be used on your stationery and website, and also printed onto a range of bespoke products in my Sussex studio: from iPhone and iPad cases to mugs, coasters and even scented candles. Most popular amongst networkers are my business card holders.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss the possibilities that can be achieved using your existing logo, or a completely revamped logo and pattern.
