Want to know why it’s worth investing in membership? Then read on … Jen Smith is a local social media coach and consultant and her goal is to add more value to your business by giving you the tools and knowledge you can immediately use to improve your social media. Here she tells us why she’s a member of MNC! Thanks Jen – we love a good testimonial!
‘I left London and the corporate world 7 months ago and launched myself into self-employment - as a social media consultant, coach and blog & copywriter. I was fortunate to launch with a great network of contacts and a couple of clients to kick me off, but I knew deep down that I would have to do more to get myself out there and known amongst the local business community if I was going to make a mark and make some money.
A friend encouraged me to join her at one of the Chichester MNC meetings and despite my hesitations I agreed to give it a go - as she sung the praises of the group. 7 months later its my turn to sing its praises.
The group is genuinely warm and welcoming - and the women (and men!) who come are generous with their support, encouragement and referrals. The format works for me - open networking and a natter, 60 seconds to showcase you and your business followed by more open networking. Unlike other networking groups I’ve attended since, there's no forced referrals, very few ‘silly slogans’ and no tedious script followed! We have a good laugh at the same time as helping our businesses grow - and that’s testament to the group leaders.
Dawn Gracie, who heads up the Chichester meeting has been a massive support and is always thinking of new ways to promote the members and the group.
As we’re all here to grow our businesses, I can say that MNC has been one of my biggest sources of new clients and I’ve got my yearly subscription back 10 times over since I joined - the investment has been more than worthwhile and I always leave the meetings with a smile on my face! ‘
